A failed roll can be reattempted immediately by explaining how the investigator tries harder — at a steeper cost on a second failure.
Additional Info
body
After a failed skill roll, a player may narrate why their investigator is willing to try again immediately — forcing the lock a second time, pressing further into the dark. The Keeper can allow a Pushed roll under these conditions, but a second failure carries a worse consequence than the first: more Sanity lost, a weapon jamming, drawing unwanted attention. Not every roll can be pushed — the Keeper decides when circumstances make a second attempt physically possible.
