Pricing and tiers
Skryrún has three tiers. Chronicler is free forever. Weaver and Runekeeper are monthly subscriptions. Every new account starts with a 14-day Runekeeper trial — no credit card required.
What tiers actually gate
Every tier includes the full tool set: session mode, player portal, relationship graph, AI tools, encounter builder, calendar, random tables, and more. Tiers gate scale, not access.
| 📜 Chronicler Chronicler Free | ⚔️ Weaver+ Weaver $5/mo | 👑 Runekeeper Runekeeper $25/mo | |
|---|---|---|---|
| Worlds | 1 | 5 | Unlimited |
| Campaigns per world | 1 | 3 | Unlimited |
| Storage | 200MB | 5GB | 25GB |
| Collaborators | 0 | 2 | 5 |
| Session-prep scenes | 3 | 10 | Unlimited |
| Monthly Runes | 25 | 100 | 600 |
| Custom domain | — | — | ✓ |
| Priority support | — | — | ✓ |
All three tiers include: session mode, player portal, AI tools, relationship web, wikilinks, encounter builder, calendar + timeline, data export, random tables, community publishing, and every player-facing feature (backstory builder, character arc log, relationship anchors).
Runes — how AI works
Runes are the currency for AI features. Every tier receives a monthly Rune allowance that refreshes on your billing date. Each AI action (generating lore, asking the Runekeeper, seeding a table, improvising an NPC) costs Runes based on how much it produces.
- Chronicler: 25 Runes/month
- Weaver: 100 Runes/month
- Runekeeper: 600 Runes/month
Your current Rune balance is visible in the dashboard header and in every AI panel before you trigger a generation. If you run out before your refresh date, you can purchase Rune packs from the Runes counter.
The AI tools themselves are the same on every tier — Rune quantity is the only difference. A Chronicler account can generate lore; it just has fewer Runes to spend each month.
Chronicler (free)
Chronicler is free forever — no trial expiry, no credit card needed to maintain it. It gives you one world, one campaign, 200MB of storage, and the full Skryrún experience, including session mode, player portal, and 25 monthly Runes for AI.
What Chronicler does not include: collaborators (solo only) and custom domain hosting. It is a good fit for solo worldbuilders, new GMs, and anyone running a single campaign.
Weaver ($5/mo)
Weaver is the working GM tier. It adds scale for GMs running multiple worlds or campaigns.
- Up to 5 worlds
- Up to 3 campaigns per world
- 5GB storage
- 2 collaborators per world
- 100 monthly Runes
- Up to 10 prep scenes per session
Everything else — player portal, AI tools, data export, encounter prep, relationship graph — is the same as Runekeeper.
Runekeeper ($25/mo)
Runekeeper removes all scale limits and adds hosting perks.
- Unlimited worlds, campaigns, and prep scenes
- 25GB storage
- Up to 5 collaborators per world
- 600 monthly Runes
- Custom domain — point your own domain at your Skryrún world portal
- Priority support
14-day free trial
Every new Skryrún account starts with a 14-day Runekeeper trial. During the trial you have full Runekeeper access, including 600 Runes. At the end of the trial, you choose a tier or drop to Chronicler automatically.
Content created during the trial is always preserved regardless of which tier you land on. If you drop to Chronicler with 3 worlds, all three worlds are still there — creation locks until you are within the tier's limits, but nothing is deleted.
No payment method is required to start the trial or to use Chronicler after the trial ends.
Founding member offer
Founding members receive Weaver free for one year. If you signed up during the founding window, this appears in Settings → Billing as an active Weaver subscription. After the year ends, it converts to a paid Weaver subscription unless you cancel or change tiers.
Annual billing
Annual plans save 25%: Weaver at $45/yr ($3.75/mo effective), Runekeeper at $225/yr ($18.75/mo effective). Switch in Settings → Billing.
Downgrading
Downgrading is non-destructive. Skryrún never deletes your content when you move to a lower tier.
What happens when you downgrade:
- Existing content is preserved. All entities, articles, sessions, and campaigns remain intact and editable.
- Creation is locked at the new tier's limits. If you downgrade from Weaver to Chronicler with 3 worlds, you can edit all three but cannot create a fourth until you have deleted two.
- Your Rune allowance adjusts at the next billing cycle. AI-generated content in your articles is not removed — you just generate less going forward.
- Player portals stay live — portals are available on all tiers.
Before downgrading, check your world count and storage usage in Settings → Billing. The page shows your current usage against each tier's limits so you can see exactly what will lock.
Troubleshooting
My 14-day trial ended and I'm worried I lost content. Nothing is deleted when your trial ends. All your worlds, entities, and session data remain intact. What changes is scale (world count, Rune allowance) — on Chronicler you can edit your existing content freely, but creation locks at the free tier's limits. Content from the trial is yours to keep.
I ran out of Runes before my monthly refresh. Your Rune balance refreshes on your billing date each month. If you need more before then, you can purchase a Rune pack from the Runes counter in the dashboard header. Rune packs stack with your monthly allowance.
I downgraded tiers but I can't find some of my worlds. Worlds are never deleted on downgrade — they are just locked from creation. If you downgraded from Weaver (5 worlds) to Chronicler (1 world), you can still see and edit all five worlds. You just cannot create a new world until you are within the tier's limit.
I signed up during the founding member window but I'm not seeing Weaver for free. The founding member offer appears as an active subscription in Settings → Billing. If you don't see it there, your account may have been created after the founding window closed. Contact support with your account email to verify.
