I run campaigns for friends and family. Skryrún grew from the work I do between those sessions.
I had the notes. The people, the places, the secrets. What I needed was a way to keep them close when my players took the story somewhere unexpected.
That experience shapes what I build: a place to develop my world, prepare for the next session, and choose what my players discover. I want to spend more of game night with the people I built it for.
“Real emotions at a real table, shared between real people. That’s worth building for.”
The name
Skryrún
Pronounced SKRY-roon
SkryThe act of scrying. Seeing beyond what is in front of you.
RúnThe idea of hidden wisdom. A secret waiting to be discovered.
02 / The inspiration
A little myth. A very human purpose.
I’ve always been drawn to Norse mythology: the pursuit of wisdom, the mystery of the runes, and the things a world keeps hidden. That fascination helped me find the name Skryrún.
As a GM, I know that hidden world well. I know the shopkeeper’s secret, the history beneath the ruined city, and why a familiar name might change everything.
I’m building Skryrún to bring that preparation into reach when a player asks the question that opens the story.
03 / The values
What matters at our table.
The principles that guide what I build. Open a card to see what each one means during play.
Make room for the people.
Preparation should help you listen, respond, and follow an unexpected choice.
At the table
The party befriends the person you expected them to fight. Keep their story close and let the conversation lead.
